About Mini Off-Rovers
Mini Off-Rovers supplies luxury electric Mini Land Rover Defenders, child sized replicas of the iconic off road vehicle, designed for young drivers aged four to ten. Based in Macclesfield, Cheshire and working with venues across the country, the business was established in June 2022 by Chris and Clare, a husband and wife team with more than thirty five years of combined experience in hotels, hospitality, leisure and tourism, much of it in senior operational roles.
It began as a direct to consumer off road driving experience hosted at a National Trust property, which went on to win several regional business awards. In January 2025 the business expanded into prestigious private hire and commercial hire, supplying its scaled down Defenders to luxury hospitality brands and private clients.
The Challenge
The business had changed shape twice in under three years, and the brand had to change with it.
What started as a family experience day was now three quite different propositions. Commercial hire is a business to business conversation with hotel operators about differentiation, guest experience and monthly hire fees. Private hire is a luxury purchase. Event hire is something else again. The original identity had been built for the first of those and was now being asked to carry all three, in front of the sort of hospitality brands that judge a supplier partly on how the supplier presents itself.
There was a second problem, and it is the more common one. Things kept happening. New venue partnerships, new awards, seasonal availability, new locations. Every one of those is a reason for somebody to look at the site, and every one of them is worth a page. But the people who know about them are the two people running the business, and they are not sitting at a desk.
What We Built
We delivered the rebrand and built the website around it, with the three hire propositions given their own space rather than being flattened into one page. Commercial hire makes the operator's case directly, covering the shift in what luxury family travellers expect, the absence of long contracts and the fully supported hire model. Private and event hire speak to their own audiences. The fleet, the safety standards and the specification carry the reassurance that a parent or a hotel operator needs before they book anything.
Then we put ShoutOut behind it. ShoutOut is part of the Fruitcake app: Chris and Clare send us information from their phones for a new page, a promotion, an event or a piece of news, we build it, our team checks it manually, and it comes back to them for approval before anything goes live. It takes a couple of minutes at their end and produces a proper page rather than a post that scrolls away.
The Ellenborough Park partnership is a good example. A new arrangement with one of England's most prestigious country house hotels is exactly the kind of news that should be on the website within days, and it was.
The Result
The brand now fits all three sides of the business, and the site keeps up with a company that is still moving quickly. News, events and partnerships appear while they are still news, which matters both for the search engines and for the hotel operator who checks whether anything has happened here recently.
Just as importantly, keeping the site current stopped being a task that competes with running the business. That is the difference between a site that grows and one that stalls after launch.
Why It Worked
Most websites go quiet for the same reason: publishing something is harder than the value of publishing it. Not technically harder, just enough friction that it loses to everything else on the list.
ShoutOut removes the friction without removing the standard. Nothing is published automatically and nothing goes live without the owners seeing it, so the site stays accurate as well as current. It sits on the Active plan, alongside full CMS access if they would rather do it themselves. If your website has not changed since the day it launched, that is usually the problem worth solving first. Our social media management page covers the other half of the picture, and our web design in Macclesfield and Cheshire pages cover the local side for businesses closer to home.
Common questions
What is ShoutOut?
ShoutOut is part of the Fruitcake app. You send us information from your phone for a new page, promotion, event, product or piece of news, we create it, our team checks it manually, and it comes back to you for approval before anything goes live.
Does anything get published without me seeing it?
No. Every piece of content is reviewed by our team and then sent back to you for approval first. You always have the final say on what appears on your website.
Can you handle a rebrand as well as the website?
Yes. Mini Off-Rovers needed the identity to stretch across three quite different propositions before the website could be built around it, so the rebrand came first and the site was built to it.
How do I keep my website up to date when I am never at a desk?
That is precisely what ShoutOut is for. It takes a couple of minutes on a phone and produces a proper page on your website, which is a very different thing from a social post that disappears down the feed.
Which plan includes ShoutOut?
ShoutOut comes with our Active plan at £79 per month, which also includes the Fruitcake app and content on request. Full details are on our packages page.
News, events and offers, without the website becoming a chore.
Send it to us from your phone with ShoutOut and we will build the page, check it and send it back for approval before anything goes live.
