About Used Warehouse Solutions

Used Warehouse Solutions is a nationwide supplier of quality used warehouse equipment, based in Northampton and operating across the UK. The business helps companies fit out and expand facilities without paying new prices, supplying pallet racking, shelving systems, cantilever racking, mezzanine flooring, warehouse trolleys, used plastic boxes, stillages, partitioning and handling equipment. Everything is inspected before it reaches a customer.

The Challenge

Selling used stock is a different problem from selling new stock, and it is the website that has to solve it.

A new product exists indefinitely. A used one is a specific pallet of specific items sitting in a specific warehouse, and when it sells it is gone. Stock arrives in batches, varies in quantity and condition, and changes constantly. A catalogue that takes a fortnight to update is not a catalogue, it is a list of things you used to have, and every out of date page is either a disappointed enquiry or a lost one.

The obvious answer is to publish stock as it lands. The obvious obstacle is that the person who knows what has landed is standing in a warehouse looking at it, not sitting at a computer, and the gap between those two places is where most product listings quietly die.

Buyers, meanwhile, want the specifics. Somebody sourcing picking trolleys or euro containers is comparing on dimensions, load ratings, condition, quantity and price. Vague listings do not convert, because the entire proposition of buying used rests on knowing exactly what you are getting.

What We Built

We built a product website structured by category, covering warehouse trolleys, used plastic boxes, stillages and warehouse equipment, alongside the wider offer of pallet racking, shelving, cantilever racking, mezzanine flooring, handling kit and partitioning. The reasoning behind buying used is set out properly, because it is a genuine argument about structural integrity and load bearing performance at a fraction of the cost, not just a discount.

The important part is how the site is run. Everything is updated through the Fruitcake app, from a phone, in the warehouse. New stock is photographed where it stands and sent to us through ShoutOut with the details. We build the product page, our team checks it manually, and it comes back for approval before it goes live.

The result is listings with the specifics buyers need and prices stated openly: picking trolleys from £25, heavy duty euro storage crates at £6, sixty one litre euro stacking containers at £6, car parts boxes at £5, horticultural trays from £2.50, plastic storage boxes from £2. Real figures, on the page, from stock that is genuinely there.

The Result

The website keeps pace with the warehouse. Stock goes up while it is in stock, which is the only version of a used equipment catalogue that is worth having, and the process fits the way the business already works rather than asking anybody to change it.

Publishing has stopped being a task that waits for a quiet moment, and the site now earns enquiries continuously rather than in bursts after somebody finds an afternoon to update it.

Why It Worked

The pattern here is one we see constantly. The barrier to a useful website is almost never the design or the technology. It is the distance between the person who knows the information and the moment it gets published, and for anybody whose work happens away from a desk that distance is usually fatal.

Closing it means meeting the business where it actually is, which in this case is a warehouse floor with a phone. The manual check on our side is what keeps quality up while the effort stays at a couple of minutes, and nothing goes live without approval. It runs on the Active plan with the Fruitcake app and content support included. Our ecommerce web design page covers selling online, and our portfolio shows the wider range of what we build.

Common questions

Can I update my website from my phone?

Yes. The Fruitcake app gives you full access to your site from a phone, so you can edit content wherever you are. Used Warehouse Solutions runs its entire product catalogue this way, from the warehouse floor.

How does ShoutOut create product pages?

You photograph the stock and send us the details through the app. We build the product page, our team checks it manually, and it comes back to you for approval before it goes live. It takes a couple of minutes at your end.

Can a pay monthly website handle a large product catalogue?

It can. The constraint is almost never the platform, it is whether keeping the catalogue current is easy enough to actually happen. Solve that and the size of the catalogue looks after itself.

Is the content written by AI?

Every piece of content is reviewed by our team before it goes anywhere near your website, and then you approve it before it publishes. What we sell is the finished page, checked by a person, not an automated feed.

Do you work with businesses outside Cheshire?

Yes. Used Warehouse Solutions is based in Northampton and trades nationwide, and we work with customers right across the UK. Being based in Cheshire is useful for local clients, not a limit on who we take on.
