A film for the top of a home page, a customer talking about working with you, a recruitment piece, a walkthrough of a facility and a conference highlights reel are five different jobs. Deciding which one you actually need usually shortens the film, sharpens it and reduces what it costs to make.
Photography shot for where it is going
Headshots people are willing to use, teams that do not look like stock, premises, products and work in progress. Because we also build websites, images are shot and cropped with their destination in mind, in the shapes the pages need, rather than handed over as a folder for somebody else to crop badly.
Aerial footage where it adds something
Licensed drone operation for premises, sites, venues and property, used for establishing shots and context inside a wider production. It is a tool in the edit rather than the point of the film.
It works harder next to everything else
Film and photography produce the assets that make the rest work: the home page header, the social clips, the imagery through a site. If we are also handling your website or your social media, the same shoot feeds all of it instead of three separate ones.
Questions about filming and photography
Where do you cover?
We are based at Alderley Park in Cheshire and work across Manchester, Cheshire and the North West as a matter of course. We travel further for projects that warrant it, and we will tell you honestly when travel makes a shoot less sensible than finding someone local.
How long does a shoot take?
Most corporate films and photography sessions are a single day on site, sometimes half of one. Interviews with several people, multiple locations or anything involving a live event usually need more, and we will say so before you book rather than after.
Can you use drone footage?
Yes, with appropriately licensed operation and permissions for the site. Aerial footage works best cut into a wider film for establishing shots rather than as the whole piece.
Do we own the footage?
You get full usage rights to everything we shoot for you. Where licensed music or stock footage is used in an edit, we tell you what is licensed and for what.
Can you shoot photography and video on the same visit?
Usually yes, and it is the cheapest way to do both. It needs planning, because lighting a room for video and shooting stills in it are different jobs, but one well planned day often covers both.
