MCP Painting Group is a commercial and industrial painting contractor based in Manchester, serving clients across the North West and nationwide. The business takes on large scale painting and surface treatment projects for commercial properties, industrial facilities, schools and construction sites, from corrosion resistant steel painting and fire retardant intumescent coatings to full colour schemes aligned to a client's branding.

It works in high traffic sectors including offices, educational institutions and hospitality venues, with fully trained and certified teams, flexible scheduling coordinated around site managers, and a reputation built on quality workmanship and reliable delivery. Before coming to Fruitcake Media, that reputation travelled almost entirely by word of mouth.

The Challenge

The problem was visibility, not capability.

Businesses looking for commercial painters or industrial spraying contractors in Manchester were not finding MCP. The existing web presence had no structured service pages, no clear calls to action and none of the SEO foundations needed to compete for commercially valuable search terms. For a contractor working on projects where the values are significant and buyers research carefully before making contact, that is not a cosmetic problem. Appearing in search results is the difference between being on the list and never being considered.

There was a second difficulty specific to this sector. Commercial and industrial painting is described in several different ways by the people buying it. What We Built

We designed and built a website structured around the services MCP delivers and the clients it wants to attract: a mobile responsive layout, fast loading, and a clean, authoritative design suited to commercial and industrial buyers. Service pages were written and structured around the terms prospective clients actually use, with the industrial and commercial sides given distinct treatment because they are genuinely different conversations.

SEO foundations went in from the outset, including page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure and internal linking. Contact forms and clear calls to action sit throughout the site so a visitor never has to hunt for the way to start an enquiry, and a guides section builds depth on repainting industrial and public property.

Alongside the build we ran an ongoing SEO campaign focused on local and sector relevance, targeting commercial painting, industrial painting and spraying, surface preparation and protective coatings, together with the location terms covering Manchester and the wider North West.

The Result

MCP Painting Group now ranks at position one on Google for six of its core commercial search terms:

Those are not vanity phrases. They are the exact terms a facilities manager, main contractor or school business manager types when they have a building that needs painting and a budget to spend, and MCP is now the first result for all of them.

The commercial effect followed. With a properly structured site and an active SEO campaign, MCP began attracting organic traffic from businesses actively searching for the services it provides, and the quality of the enquiries rose along with the volume because the site was drawing visitors with genuine, commercial scale requirements. Why It Worked

The project succeeded because the website was treated as a business tool rather than a digital brochure. Plenty of contractor websites list services without giving search engines or buyers the structure, depth and context needed to build trust and prompt an enquiry.
